K-118 binding is a method of tightback binding, where the boards are attached to the book before covering and the spine of the cover is adhered to the spine of the book. The K-118 style is a rediscovery of an atypical binding method found on a book from the 1490s, where the boards are attached to the book via spine lining tabs instead of laced cords.

I presented on this binding style last year and, since then, our members have likely made the majority of K-118 bindings in the world. Let's go back & revisit the method and what worked in folks' experiments.
